COMPANY UPDATE - FIRST QUARTER 2021

Dear Valued Customer,

Hoping this letter finds you all well and you're slowly starting to find a bit of normal after a challenging past 12 months for us all. This letter is a First Quarter Update from all of us at Maddison Safety and a brief ‘lay of the land’ for our company and our industry.

Like most businesses, 2020 was a year where many of the processes we had developed over the past 30 years were discarded and in record time we started to do business a bit differently. The way our team adapted to these changes was incredible and we are extremely proud of every team member. The overall outcome of the adjustments was extremely positive and has paved the way for a list of new and exciting projects in 2021.

Our project team has been busy working on ideas and concepts to create efficiencies within our business but more to the point assist in building stronger relationships with our loyal customers. We are committed to not only servicing your business but also building a partnership with your team.

2021 Team Update
Cameron Whiting who has worked behind the scenes to keep our vending machines maintained will join Scott Garbutt in our VMI/Sales team. This part of the business has grown immensely over the past 2-3 years. If you are looking to streamline your stores/procurement process, do not hesitate to contact us to learn more about our Vendor Managed Inventory System.

After losing Danielle Harris in the off season to some well-deserved travel, we have now planned to add a support person to our Sales Team. This role is currently being recruited by the professional team at PeopleFusion and we expect to have the new person on board prior to the end of April. Watch this space!

We are also currently recruiting a Production Manager for our manufacturing facility. This person will plan, manage and deliver a major project to restructure our manufacturing department. It is fair to say we all learnt over the past 12 months how important it is that we continue to manufacture here in Australia. As a result, we are looking to overhaul our product range, upgrade machinery, research new and exciting raw materials from around the globe and put a sharp marketing campaign together to support the project.

New Website
The website has now been live since January and we are adding new products and content daily. We would like to thank Sam Robertson for all her efforts in delivering this project. Sammy started with us midway through 2020 with very little experience in PPE but a desire to learn and understand the business. We have introduced the website through our social channels and the feedback has been outstanding.

In addition to the retail side of the website, it also offers an online ordering platform for our customers. We are currently trialing the platform with a couple of our larger, contract customers. Once we have ironed out any creases, we will be in touch to introduce the platform to your business.

Please email samr@maddisonsafety.com to register your interest in being set up for Online Ordering.

Supplier Update
We continue to experience some challenges around supply of certain products. Importing across ALL industries continues to be a struggle and our industry is no exception. We have been impacted by these difficulties and will continue to be for at least the next 12 months. To prevent any major issues, we have increased stock holdings by over 25% for critical products throughout our warehouses. Our procurement team is working daily managing our forecasts and keeping abreast of communication from our suppliers.

Currently all disposable products are volatile i.e. Dust Masks, Coveralls, Disposable Gloves. Pricing and lead times fluctuate with every order placed and we are constantly evaluating purchasing opportunities as they come to hand. We expect this position to remain as is until the end of the year.

Finally, on behalf of us all here at Maddison Safety, I’d like to take this opportunity to Thank You all for continuing to do business with us. We certainly appreciate your support and are always here to service your requirements.

Yours Sincerely
Tim Maddison
Managing Director
